Our Story
Our Story
Better Portion exists because nonprofit and ministry teams should not have to spend their best energy fighting disconnected tools, repetitive processes, and systems that were never designed for their work.
Founder story
How Better Portion began
Better Portion began with a simple conviction: Christian nonprofits should not have to choose between meaningful mission work and manageable operations. The right software should reduce confusion, clarify next steps, and give people more room to serve.

Why we exist
Mission work shouldn't be slowed by tools.
Disconnected tools, ad-hoc spreadsheets, and manual processes pull mission-driven teams away from the people they serve. We build practical systems that hold donor relationships, missionary work, and stewardship together — so the work can move forward with clarity.
- Donor relationships scattered across spreadsheets
- Manual processes that quietly absorb staff hours
- Tools that don't speak to one another
- Systems built for businesses, not for ministries
The name
Why “Better Portion.”
The name Better Portion points to the belief that technology should help organizations focus on what matters most. Software is not the mission. It should serve the mission by removing the avoidable friction that keeps people from the work they are called to do.
Mission
Practical software, in service of the work.
We build practical software systems for Christian nonprofits so mission-driven teams can operate with clarity, steward relationships well, and focus on the better portion of their work.
What we value
Four commitments behind every project.
01
People before systems
Tools serve teams, not the other way around.
02
Stewardship over complexity
We choose the simpler path that lasts.
03
Clarity before scale
Operations should be understandable before they grow.
04
Long-term partnership
We stay close to the work after launch.
